Keep always this dim corner for me, that I may sit while the Green Hour glides,
a proud pavine of time. For I am no longer in the city accursed, where Time is
horsed on the white gelding Death, his spurs rusted with blood.
— Aleister Crowley, 1918, New Orleans

The Dim Corner

Some people prefer the road less traveled—and Hottest Hell designed this tour for those people. An alternative to our popular main route, “The Dim Corner” starts at the Old U.S. Mint (The New Orleans Jazz Museum), snaking its way into the French Quarter and through a half dozen oft-forgotten true crime gems. Guests begin with an introduction to our sinful days selling lust and love on the former Gallatin Street, back when beautiful brothel girls stole hearts and wallets with equal skill.

Depending on the night the next stop could be a visit to the statue of one of the most famous “witches” in world history, or pit stop outside a haunted insane asylum now operating as a vampire den. Cold cocktails and frothy beers await anyone in the mood for a beverage, and then it’s on to the workshop of a powerful coven once run by a beloved local magician. We guide you to the Old Ursuline Convent for some stunning architecture married with vampire lore, cover a few ghostly mafia killings you’ve never seen haunting HBO, and finish with a pair of historic homicides that'll leave you checking the locks twice once you get home.

This tour is especially for aficionados of New Orleans who already know all about the LaLaurie Mansion and are looking to dive deeper into America’s Most Haunted City.
